Over 20 years worldwide acquisition experience since 1983.  8 years as an observer, senior observer and party chief with geophysical contractor. Operating as an acquisition consultant since 1991, John has wide experience of seismic and navigation quality control and data processing. He also has training and experience in project planning and management

Management

:

Management of seismic acquisition projects

Acquisition

:

Supervision and quality control of 2D, 3D, multi-vessel and OBC acquisition programmes. Special respect is given to minimisation of 3D costs by use of expedient shooting and infill programmes. Navigation of hazards, shallows and high currents areas hold special interest. QHSE monitoring and advancement.

Navigation

:

Extensive experience of quality control of  2D, 3D and OBC surveys. Navigation data processing of  2D, 3D and OBC data.

Processing

:

Experience of both QC and on-board production seismic processing systems.

Software

:

Extensive knowledge of MS Office and many other programmes in popular use. Programming skills in Visual Basic. Several bespoke programmes in use for QC and data logging.

Mapping

:

Preparation of survey maps, charts and attribute displays using Manifold, Surfer and VB scripting within MSWord
