Start Up

Traditional technical audits cannot fully cover the requirement to ensure that all aspects of the intended operation are adequate for the purpose. Without testing the equipment post deployment, many of the most important operating criteria may pass without being fully checked.

There are three stages to the Start Up Tests.

Pre-deployment.

These are tests that can be completed whilst the vessel is alongside or even prior to arrival at the survey location.

Post-deployment

These tests cannot be completed until the equipment has been deployed and is ready for use.

First Line QC

Data from the first recorded line is sent to geoguide technical support for analysis and assessment.

The start up procedures of the contractors tend to have some overlap with the geoguide start up routines. Where there is commonality, geoguide will assess the contractor tests for acceptability in an attempt to avoid duplication of effort and subsequent loss of time.
